Grande finale of Poster Competition held
Islamabad – Cavish Development Foundation held grand finale of poster competition on ending violence against women on Friday 10th December 2010 in a local hotel. Human Rights activists, Women Rights activists, media personnel, artists, educators and students attended the ceremony. ![]()
Cavish, in partnership with Bedari, organized a Poster Competition on Ending Violence against Women among students in seven Tehsils of District Rawalpindi to bring awareness at mass level in society. This poster competition was organized as part of “16 Days of Activism Campaign”, an annual global campaign which begins from 25th November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and concludes on 10th December, International Human Rights Day.
Tahir Khattak, Manager Special Projects of Cavish, said that poster competition was held under Cavish’s “Ending Violence against Women Project”. He added that this project has four main components, namely, movement for approval of domestic violence bill, capacity building of lawyers and police officials on human rights, mass awareness about ending violence against women and building grass root level support system for survivors of violence against women.
Poster Competition on EVAW launched as part of “16 days of activism campaign”
Islamabad - As part of 16 days activism campaign, Cavish Development Foundation and Bedari has organized a Poster Competition on Ending Violence against Women among students of District Rawalpindi. The "16 days of activism campaign against violence against women”, is an annual global campaign which is carried out worldwide beginning from 25th November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and it concludes on December 10, the International Human Rights Day. The event was announced today before media at Islamabad Press Club.
Students from around 100 schools, both private and government, of District Rawalpindi and District Chakwal would be participating in this poster competition.
Students of class 6th to 10th would make a pictorial representation of their imagination and ideas, to show how they view the violence against women. The purpose of competition is also to promote artistic and creative activities among the students and to provide them platform to participate in such activities. The winner in every Tehsil would be awarded cash prize, whereas all the participants would be given gift hampers. The best poster from every tehsil would then be selected a district level grand finale. Among these seven posters, three posters would be chosen for first, second and third position during grand finale. District level winning poster would be printed by Cavish and Bedari for wider circulation across country.
